Ebert Named 2008 Recipient of the Charles E. Cowan Memorial Award

Pennsylvania Farm Bureau Vice President Richard (Rick) Ebert has been named the 2008 recipient of the Charles E. Cowan Memorial Award.
The award is presented by the Pennsylvania Dairymen’s Association to the dairyman who has demonstrated superior management capabilities and provided outstanding leadership qualities within the dairy industry.
Ebert was selected
as PFB's new Vice-President in December 2004 and re-elected in November 2007.
Ebert was named 2007 Country Folks Keystone Farm Show "Farmer of the Year". He was recognized for his involvement and accomplishments in the dairy industry and his involvement in social and agricultural organizations, such as Farm Bureau.
Ebert served as a PFB
Board of Director for District 16 from November 1996 to November 2004.
He has served the Westmoreland County Farm Bureau as president in the
past.
He was on the State and National Young Farmer and Rancher Committees.
Ebert is in partnership with his brother operating a dairy farm. He
milks 72 holsteins, farms corn, alfalfa hay, barley, soybeans and wheat.
His community activities include leadership in the 4-H club and is
superintendent for the Westmoreland County Fair Association.
He and
his wife, Diane have four children. He is a member of the St. James
Catholic Church of New Alexandria. |
