Commodity Program

The Commodity Committee, comprised of farmers, serving within the Farm Bureau structure, provides the opportunity to discuss and recommend solutions to problems that directly affect the commodity for which the member is appointed. The committee serves in an advisory capacity to the PFB President and Board of Directors. The committee may examine commodity related programs, recommend changes, review and make suggestions for existing policy, offer suggestions and assistance for implementing existing policies, identify issues for policy development and assist county commodity committees with county commodity activities. Commodities represented on the committee are: aquaculture, bees/honey, canine, Christmas trees, dairy, equine, forestry, fruits/vegetables, grain, hay, livestock, mushrooms, nursery, poultry, sheep, veal and viticulture. There is also a separate dairy committee. E-mail us at govcom at pfb.com concerning both commodity committees.
