The Commodity Committee, comprised
of farmers, serving within the Farm Bureau structure, provides the
opportunity to discuss and recommend solutions to problems that directly
affect the commodity for which the member is appointed. The committee
serves in an advisory capacity to the PFB President and Board of Directors. The
committee may examine commodity related programs, recommend changes, review
and make suggestions for existing policy, offer suggestions and assistance for
implementing existing policies, identify issues for policy development and assist
county commodity committees with county commodity activities. Commodities represented
on the committee are: aquaculture, bees/honey, canine, Christmas trees, dairy,
equine, forestry, fruits/vegetables, grain, hay, livestock, mushrooms, nursery,
poultry, sheep, veal and viticulture. There is also a separate dairy committee.
