Egg Safety Rule
The FDA has been conducting in-depth awareness meetings with egg farmers nationwide to alert them to the obligations to register and abide by the "Egg Safety Rule" that takes effect this year on July 9, 2012, for farms with 3,000 to 50,000 hens. In the coming months, we at PSU Cooperative Extension will do more training to help you prepare an Se plan; biosecurity plan; monitor, control, and conduct rodent and fly indexing and other procedures. This is a great opportunity to hear directly from the FDA about the rule, the recommended guidance to comply, and how other inspections have gone. This is also a great chance to ask questions with plenty of time to cover all the obligations. Please see the announcement below and consider attending.
