PA Farm Bureau President Re-appointed
to AFBF Executive Committee; Re-elected to Board of Directors

(Nashville, TN) – Pennsylvania Farm Bureau (PFB) President Carl Shaffer has been re-appointed to a fourth term as a member of the American Farm Bureau Federation’s (AFBF) Executive Committee and re-elected to a fourth term on AFBF’s Board of Directors during the nation’s largest farm organization’s 94th Annual Meeting in Nashville.

“It is a privilege to continue to serve farmers in Pennsylvania, the Northeast and across the United States as a member of AFBF’s Board of Directors and Executive Committee.  We have many challenges ahead as we work to create opportunities for farmers to remain profitable, as they continue to be good stewards of the land, while producing safe and healthy food,” said PFB President Carl T. Shaffer.

Shaffer, a Columbia County corn and soybean farmer, participated during the annual meeting as one of PFB's four voting delegates.  He represents Pennsylvania and other Northeast states on the AFBF Board of Directors.

The board of directors is responsible for the governance of AFBF, primarily through approving initiatives that help carry out the policy approved by voting delegates, interpreting policy when needed, overseeing the federation's budget and other financial operations.

Pennsylvania Farm Bureau is the state’s largest farm organization with a volunteer membership of more than 55,000 farm and rural families, representing farms of every size and commodity across Pennsylvania.
