Personal Testimonies from 2012 FACE participants:

"I never knew that there was so much into Ag Politics.  When we broke out into the House of Representatives I realized that a lot of time and effort goes into running something like the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau....I learned anything from how to set a table, what to do for an interview, public speaking, how to stand out and be a better leader, and so on....I got so into what was going on around me and being busy making friends and having a great time that Friday came before I knew it.  They kept us moving and there was always something for us to do."  - Alyshia Talmage, Indiana County

"Philadelphia doesn't even have its own County Bureau, and what especially touched me was when I learned that without the sponsorship, this trip might have cost me $250.00."  - A Grateful, Farm Bureau, Philadelphia, W.B. Saul, and Agriculture member friend, student, & Advocate, Rodger Selby Jr., Philadelphia County

"I just wanted to say thank you for such a wonderful week. To you and all the staff that help put the F.A.C.E Conference together! It was a great week and I learned a lot.  Thanks for the experience!" - Reganne Whalen, Wyoming County

"I had a lot of fun and I learned a lot about agriculture in general.  I can honestly say that I am glad that I was a legislator.  It gave me the chance to learn and experience the process of writing bills and making them laws.  I now know how the USA really works as a government "for the people"." - Catherine Riddle, Elk County

Why have a youth conference?

Agriculture is an ever-changing industry that is vital to the success of our country. This industry is the foundation on which our country was built, and the catalyst that will propel us into the future. With new technology, cultural changes, and information at our finger tips, agriculture must be on the forefront to feed the world, provide cures for disease, fuel the nation, and educate consumers. PA Farm Bureau is dedicated to “Securing the Future of Agriculture”, and in order to do that, every county Farm Bureau needs to take an active role in engaging today’s youth. The youth of today are tomorrow’s leaders and the future of agriculture. By taking time to educate and engage young people, it will guarantee the success of agriculture, and Farm Bureau, for generations to come.
