To Achieve Fair and Adequate State Funding For Agriculture Programs
Thousands of enterprises provide essential production inputs and services for Pennsylvania agriculture. The future economic security of farming, agribusiness and the food industry are dependent upon the well-being and success of one another.
Pennsylvania Farm Bureau is working to build strong, effective and mutually supportive working relationships throughout the huge farm and food industry. It’s called “Friends Helping Friends”.
We can stand together for a prosperous future, or stand separately and disappear.
As one of the first initiatives of the project, Pennsylvania Farm Bureau urges farmers to reach out to agribusiness and food industry associates to recruit their help in making contacts with state legislators to achieve fair and adequate funding for agriculture program in the 2009 – 2010 State Budget.
A message which can be used as a letter or handout to farm business associates is provided below. Another item below gives details about the minimum funding which is being sought in the State Budget for essential agriculture programs. Also provided below is a directory of state legislators to help our farm business friends make contacts with their state Senator and House Representative.
Pennsylvania Farm Bureau welcomes reports about contacts that you make with friends of agriculture. You can share that information by e-mailing us at GovCom.
