The Friends of Agriculture Foundation, a charitable organization supported by Pennsylvania Farm Bureau, works to increase the public’s understanding of agriculture and the critical role it plays in our daily lives. This is done through programs such as Mobile Agriculture Education Sciences Labs, the new GIANT Farms to Families Immersion Lab and Ag on the Go; these bring firsthand agriculture science lessons directly to schools. Ag Literacy Week sends farmers into classrooms across the state to teach students about agriculture. Educator’s Ag Institute is a weeklong summer program that helps teachers incorporate lessons about agriculture into the classroom.
