Works with PA Congressional delegation and federal agencies to implement national policies. Trains and updates Farm Bureau’s National Legislative Committees for effective advocacy on national issues, and serves as a coordinator for the organization’s Policy Development process and Political Education and Action Program.

1. Organize and implement strategies developed by PFB and AFBF to achieve national policy goals
2. Maintain expertise on national legislative issues and USDA programs
3. Provide information on national policy positions to members of Congress and federal agencies
4. Provide information on national issues and programs to members and other constituencies through meetings, letters and other communications channels
5. Implement program to surface issues and develop policy for action at the county, state and federal level
6. Develop testimony for federal regulatory agencies and legislative bodies

1. Work with county Farm Bureaus to enlist volunteers for Congressional Spokesperson program
2. Train and coordinate the activities of county National Legislative Committees
3. Coordinate activity of PFB Political Education and Action Program
4. Other projects as assigned by the Director of the Governmental Affairs & Communications Division

1. Ability to organize and manage multiple projects
2. Self motivated with organizational, negotiating and human relations skills
3. Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability for effective individual and group presentations
4. Willingness and ability to learn subjects covered under areas of responsibility
5. Must have valid Pennsylvania drivers license and ability to travel in and out of the state as requested by the division director
6. Minimal Bachelor Degree with a working knowledge of legislative and political processes
7. Word processing skills required
